Farrelly Mitchell MD Malachy Mitchell spoke at a major food seminar about the significant scope for improvement in agriculture and food outcomes within the grasp of the Middle East and African nations who work together and pool their collective strengths.
The agribusiness consultancy chief’s contribution was part of the UN FAO’s World Food Day in association with Climate Action and was delivered under the theme of ‘Shifting minds to shape the future food system from farm to fork’.
He was joined by Eric Soubeiran, Danone’s Sustainability Chief and others in the digital event moderated by Viktoria de Bourbon de Parme of World Benchmarking Alliance.
World Food Day takes place on the 16th of October each year. The day of awareness is run by the World Food Programme.
WFP received the Nobel Prize in Peace for 2020 for their efforts to combat hunger, contribute to peace in conflict areas, and for playing a leading role in stopping the use of hunger as a form of weapon in war and conflict.
