Namrata Bhandari is a Food Systems Analyst at Farrelly Mitchell. She has a varied background in research and communications, with work experience in three countries. Most recently, she was a Communications Intern at Salzburg Global Seminar, an independent non-profit organisation with a mission to challenge current and future leaders to shape a better world. She conducted interviews, produced analytical policy-oriented articles, and liaised with stakeholders.
Previously, she worked as a Research Assistant for the National Economic and Social Council, an advisory to the Irish Taoiseach (Prime Minister) and Government. She worked on the intersection of the Sustainable Development and Climate Action and Just Transition Frameworks, for the Agriculture and Climate Action Project and independently produced a report analysing legislation, policy instruments, and measures used by countries across the world to reduce agricultural emissions. Prior to this, she held various journalistic roles.
Namrata graduated with a Master’s in Public Policy from University College Dublin in 2022. She authored an academic climate policy research paper entitled the ‘Prognosis for a Green New Deal’ that has been published in The Public Sphere (2023), a journal produced by the London School of Economics. She is highly passionate about human rights and climate action.
Her areas of expertise are public policy evaluation, research and evidence-based policy-making, and environmental law and policy. In addition to being a native English and Hindi speaker, she has an A2 qualification in Spanish and an elementary knowledge of French.
