He has over 30 years’ experience working in international food and agribusiness in various senior management and consulting roles, which include food processing, produce marketing, agri-food policy, consumer foods and agribusiness M&A.
He has led the development and execution of numerous international M&A mandates valued in excess of US$5 billion and other advisory engagements in Europe, Middle East, Africa and Americas on behalf of corporate and government clients. He is a highly regarded and experienced food and agribusiness professional with a strong track record in analysing and developing supply chain optimisation strategies across complex and emerging market geographies.
Malachy frequently takes the stage as a keynote speaker at prestigious international food and agribusiness conferences across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Additionally, he is sought after by various media outlets for his insights and perspectives on the latest issues and trends shaping the global food and agribusiness landscape.
He has gained international expertise across a wide range of food sectors from working and consulting on assignments for government and private sector clients in the areas of transaction advisory and due diligence, policy and strategy development, tendering and implementation.
Background
A significant part of his career was spent working in the Irish, UK and Middle East agribusiness sector with companies such as Kerry Group plc, Carton Group Ltd and ADC/Supreme Foods. He has also previously worked in senior executive, marketing and policy roles with one of Europe’s leading farm organisations, the Irish Farmers Association (IFA) in various commodity sectors.
Malachy is a clear strategic thinker with strong consensus building credentials gained from working with and representing farming groups to national media and government in Ireland and at the European Commission and advising government agencies on strategy and policy matters relating to food production and security.
