Dorcas is a project specialist at Farrelly & Mitchell Ghana office (SS Africa). Her role involves identifying and drafting responses to tendering opportunities, grant applications and commercial proposals. She also provides support to the Regional Director in the development of marketing collateral, business development and client deliverables, including project management activities.
Dorcas has over 10 years’ experience working in the agribusiness and food industry in Ghana, across West Africa and the wider continent. She has consulted and managed projects in several sectors including large scale farming enterprises, cocoa, and cashew processing sectors in Ghana and across Africa. Dorcas has also successfully led numerous technical assistance and development projects in Africa for major international donors. These projects span the food value chain from development of plant genetic material, production, post-harvest handling, processing, and marketing.
Her experience includes proposal development and project management for environmental mitigation, ESG/sustainability, business support, occupational health and safety, climate change mitigation, value chain analyses, sector organization, technical assistance, food safety, and quality assignments across Africa; worth over the US$20 million. She also played a central role in obtaining grants from USAID, US Trade and Investment Hub, Ministry of Industry and Mines, Cote d’Ivoire, AfTra, African Development Bank, and GIZ/ComCashew.
Prior to joining Farrelly & Mitchell, Dorcas was the technical consultant at the Import Promotion Desk, Germany; and before that the technical assistance manager at African Cashew Alliance. She began her career as a quality assurance manager at Niche Cocoa Industries Limited in Accra Ghana, where she oversaw the setting up of the chemistry and microbiology laboratories and ensured that finished products met food safety and quality specifications.
