Current frameworks, including the FDA’s one-step-forward, one-step-back traceability requirement, fail to capture the entire supply chain process, creating gaps in record accuracy and reliability. Blockchain food safety regulations could address these weaknesses by providing continuous, end-to-end data visibility across every stage of production and distribution.
